Active Ingredient: 240g/litre imazethapyr

Chemical Group: Imidazolinone

Formulation: Soluble concentrate Pack

EQUATE can be used pre or post-emergence on weeds. When applied pre-emergence, susceptible weeds might emerge but growth will be retarded and the weeds will either die or remain stunted and will not compete with the crop. Adequate soil moisture is important for optimum activity. When applied post-emergence of the weeds, they will either die or remain stunted and will not compete with the crop. For use post-emergence of the weeds, a non-ionic surfactant or adjuvant oil must be added to EQUATE.

Restraints: Do NOT apply to very wet soils if rain is imminent or to soils prone to water logging. Do NOT apply to crops or weeds under stress caused by factors such as root or foliar diseases, nutrient deficiencies, or extremes of temperature or moisture.

Mixing: EQUATE mixes readily with both hard and soft water. Fill the spray tank to one half to three quarters full with clean water and then, with the agitation system operating, add the required amount of product and fill the tank up. When tank mixing with other recommended compatible products, first add the other product to the half-full spray tank and mix thoroughly before adding more water and then EQUATE.

Crop Weeds Controlled Rate Critical Comments
Clover Chickweed, cleavers, hedge mustard 300-400 ml per ha plus a non-ionic surfactant at 200 ml/100L Apply when the crop is at the 2 trifoliate leaf stage or later. Apply to actively growing weeds in the cotyledon to 4- leaf stage.
Clover Annual poa, black nightshade, catsear, catchfly, dandelion, dock, dove’s foot, fathen, fennel, field madder, fumitory, groundsel, hawksbeard, henbit, large flowered mallow, mouse-ear chickweed, parsley piert, rayless chamomile, scentless chamomile, scrambling speedwell, shepherd’s purse, sorrel, spurrey, storksbill, twin cress, willow weed and wireweed 400 ml per ha plus a non-ionic surfactant at 200 ml/100L

Weeds may not be totally controlled but populations will be significantly reduced and surviving plants will generally be severely retarded and will not compete with the crop. Good crop growth will aid weed control.

For grass weeds, a follow-up spray with a selective grass herbicide may be required.

Refer to the CROP SAFETY and FOLLOW CROP sections of this label regarding follow crops.

Lucerne As listed under clover. 400 ml per ha plus ™ HASTEN at 500ml/100L or a non-ionic surfactant at 200 ml/ 100L.

Seedling: Apply when the crop is at the 2 trifoliate leaf stage or later.

Established: Apply following cutting or grazing.

Apply to actively growing weeds in the cotyledon to 4- leaf stage.

Note CRITICAL COMMENTS applying to weed control in clover above.

Refer to the CROP SAFETY and FOLLOW CROP sections regarding follow crops.

Withholding Period: Do not graze or cut for stock food for 42 days after application.

Application: Avoid overlaps when spraying. Apply in 200-300 L/ha water using flat fan nozzles. The product may be applied in a band over the row in row crops. This will assist in minimizing soil residue carry-over. Do NOT apply EQUATE under conditions (e.g. dead calm, excessive wind and/or small droplets) likely to cause spray drift onto wetlands or waterways, natural vegetation, crops other than specified on the label or land to be planted with susceptible crops. Thoroughly flush all spray equipment with water following use of EQUATE and before use with other products. Rinse water should NOT be discharged where it will reach streams, water bodies or natural vegetation.

Adjuvants: An adjuvant must be used with EQUATE. Use HASTEN esterified seed oil at 500 ml/100L water. Alternatively a non- ionic surfactant may be used at 200 ml/100L water.

Compatibility: Do NOT tank mix with selective post-emergence grass herbicides. Do NOT apply these herbicides following use of EQUATE until the grass weeds have resumed active growth.

Rainfall: EQUATE is rainfast within 2 hours.

Crop Safety: This product may cause slight shortening of plant internodes and may in some circumstances lead to transient crop yellowing but plants soon recover and yield is unaffected. This effect may be more pronounced when the product is used under poor growth conditions. Do NOT use EQUATE pre-emergence on seedling clover or lucerne. Should re-sowing of clover or lucerne be necessary, do NOT reapply EQUATE.

Follow Crops: Under conditions that do not favour the breakdown of this product, e.g. prolonged dry conditions, carry-over soil residues can affect susceptible follow crops. As environmental and agronomic factors make it impossible to eliminate all risks associated with the use of this product, rotational crop injury is always possible. Do NOT use EQUATE in areas where rainfall from the time of spraying to the sowing of cereals is expected to be below 300 mm.

Equate is registered pursuant to the ACVM Act 1997, Approval No. P7637

The following minimum follow crop intervals (months after application) should be observed:

6 Months - Beans, Clover, Lucerne Peas, Wheat

9 Months - Barley, Maize, Ryegrass

18 Months - Brassica, Oats, Sorghum Sweetcorn

24 Months - All other crops
