Active Ingredients

IVERMECTIN 5 mg/mL, CLOSANTEL (as sodium) 125 mg/mL


Closamectin Injection provides activity against gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, liver flukes, mites and lice of cattle

Gastrointestinal roundworms: Ostertagia ostertagl, 0. lyrata (including immature and inhibited larval stages) - Small brown stomach worm. Trichostrongylus axei- Stomach hair worm, T colubriformis- Intestinal hair worm Cooperia oncophora * Cooperia punctata
(adult and immature) - Small intestinal worm. Bunostomum phlebotomum (adult and immature) - Hookworm Oesophagostomum radiatum (adult and immature) - Nodule worm, Nematodirus helvetianus, N. spathiger- Thin necked intestinal worm Trichuris spp - Whipworm.

Lungworms: Dictyocaulus viviparuslimmature, inhibited and adult.

Trematodes Fasciola hepatica - Liver fluke: At 12 weeks (mature), > 99% efficacy; at 7 -9 weeks (immature), > 95% efficacy; at 5 weeks, treatment with Closamectin Injection has been shown to reduce subsequent egg shedding in flukes.

Lice Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus erysternus, Solenopotes capillatus- Sucking Lice, Aids in the control of Damalinia bovis- Biting lice.

Mites Aids in control of Chorioptes bovis; Psoroptesspp.


Closamectin Injection is to be injected subcutaneously into the anterior half of the neck using aseptic technique. A sterile 16-gauge, one inch needle is recommended.

Divide doses greater than 10 mL and inject at two or three sites. Swellings may appear at the sites of injection in the first 2 days. These will resolve without treatment over 2 to 3 weeks.

Warmer Pack Instruction included in packaging: To ensure optimal administration Closamectin Injection should be warmed prior to use. For convenience, this pack contains a bottle warmer, which should be activated before administrating the product. Closamectin Injection is specifically designed to be raised to this temperature for ease of use and to ensure the product is closer to body temperature, minimising any pain or shock to animals during treatment. The Closamectin Injection bottle warmer is designed to give instant heat when activated.

Directions for use

Before dosing, a representative sample of animals should be weighed to accurately calculate the dose. Choose the dose according to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group.Do not under-dose. Check the accuracy of drenching guns regularly.

DOSE RATE: Cattle 1 mL per 25 kg bodyweight. For cattle greater than 325 kg bodyweight, administer.

Withholding Periods

MILK: Milk intended for sale for human consumption must be discarded during treatment and for not less than 35 days following the last treatment

MEAT: Cattle producing meat or offal for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter either during treatment or within 35 days of the last treatment.

Where intramuscular injection may have occurred, animals producing meat or offal for human consumption must not be sold for slaughter during or within 91 days of treatment.
